EPANIPOLOGISMOS DIADROMIS

a multimedia happening

A diary written in a non-existent language, notebooks filled with sketches of everyday places, small booklets you leaf through in search of some meaning—these make up a series of works scattered over the years. These are itineraries from journeys, connected or separate; stories of landscapes that had to be recorded so they wouldn’t be lost, familiar places you see every day and others you left behind, perhaps forever.

They coexist with imprints in space and moments in time. The route becomes a process—sound, action, image. To record or to describe? Something is preserved, something else lives and then dies.

Is the map a description of a journey or a record of a memory?

The points function intuitively and the images experientially. The emotions they imply are interrupted by words (our own or someone else’s) spurred by the need for connection.
